Pismo "Sztuka i Dokumentacja" (SiD) powstało wiosną 2009 roku w związku z Festiwalem Sztuka i Dokumentacja, który ma miejsce co roku w Łodzi. Wydawcą pisma jest organizator festiwalu, Stowarzyszenie Sztuka i Dokumentacja, skupiające naukowców, artystów, krytyków sztuki
i kuratorów.
Celem pisma jest publikacja wyników badań nad sztuką, oraz dostarczanie
podstawowych materiałów źródłowych dla naukowców, wykłdowców, oraz
dziennikarzy. Publikujemy materiały artystyczne powstające na styku
praktyki i teorii, wypowiedzi artystów, dokumentacje wydarzeń
historycznych oraz bieżących.
Chcemy by pismo było otwartym archiwum, nieustannie wzbogacającym nasz obraz sztuki.
Chcemy pokazać ciągłość sztuki, jej historię i współczesność, uchwycić jej możliwie całościowy obraz. Chcemy by pismo stanowiło platformę kształtowania poglądów, formowania
pytań, inicjowania badań.
"Art and Documentation" Journal came into existence in spring 2009 after the Art and Documentation Festival that takes place each year in Lodz, Poland. The Art and Documentation Association is the organiser of the Festival and the publisher of the journal. The Association consists of scholars, artists, art critics and curators.
Our aim is to publish the results of studies in the field of art and to provide basic source materials for scholars, academic teachers and journalists. We publish artistic materials that come into existence at the edge of art practice and art theory, artists' statements and all kinds of art documents concerning both historical and current events. We want the Journal to be an open archive that will enrich entirely the image of art.
We want to show the continuity of art, its history and present state and to capture as complete as possible a picture. We want the Journal to become a platform aiming at shaping views, posing questions and initiating research.
